This is a story about a dog named Minnie and a cat named Sweet Pea. Minnie was adopted from the pound. Sweet Pea adopted us. Minnie's mother was a terrier and her father a black lab. She looks like a mini-lab. Sweet Pea is a five pound cat but she rules the roost. Minnie is ten times bigger but she bows to the cat. Minnie stays out of Sweet Pea's way. Sweet Pea's loves to corner the dog in the laundry room. Minnie even though ten times bigger than Sweet Pea will not dare cross her.
Sweet Pea has established who is going to be the alpha "dog" of the family even as a cat. Minnie's personality being part terrier and part lab will naturally allow Sweet Pea to do this until the day Minnie feels totally threatened by this five pound cat.
One day though all the rules changed when Minnie decided that enough was enough and stood up to the devil named Sweet Pea. It started out normally with Minnie hiding in the laundry room, but if you watched closely she was watching to see when and if Sweet Pea would wander by. Soon Sweet Pea decided she was hungry and headed to the kitchen. Just as she was approaching the laundry room door Minnie jumped out with teeth bared, and tail between her legs (just so you would know she was not really angry). Too bad, Minnie who was attempting to land on Sweet Pea's back missed, hit the wall and ended up scurrying back into the laundry room fearful of retribution by Sweet Pea.
